MORAGA, Calif. -- Emmett Naar made seven 3-pointers and scored a career-high 27 points to help Saint Mary's beat San Francisco State 80-56 on Friday night in a season opener for both teams.

Dane Pineau added 8 points and 11 rebounds for Saint Mary's, which led by as many as 33 points. Naar was 10 of 14 from the field and had five assists.

Saint Mary's school record for 3-pointers in a game is eight by David Sivulich and Eric Schraeder.

The Gaels were 13 of 39 from beyond the arc.

San Francisco State, a NCAA Division II school, was held to 21-of-55 shooting (38 percent). Treaven Duffy led the Gators with 11 points.
