SAINT BONAVENTURE, N.Y. -- Denzel Gregg had 15 points and 11 rebounds, Dion Wright scored 20 with nine boards and St. Bonaventure pulled away late for a 63-53 win over Binghamton in the season opener for both teams Friday night.

Wright scored 15 of his 20 points in the second half. The Bonnies shot 93.3 percent from the charity stripe in the second half compared to just 50 percent in the first.

Two free throws from Justin McFadden got the Bearcats within two with 5:24 left, but five points in 14 seconds on a pair of free throws from Derrick Woods and a Nelson Kaputo 3-pointer gave St. Bonaventure a seven-point lead and the momentum.

Willie Rodriguez led Binghamton with 12 points and eight rebounds. The Bearcats shot just 29.8 percent from the field, including 5 of 24 from 3-point range.
