ALBANY, N.Y. -- Quadir Welton had 13 points and seven rebounds, and No. 7 seed Saint Peter's limited 10th-seeded Fairfield to just seven first-half points en route to a 63-33 win in the Mid-Atlantic Athletic Conference tournament on Thursday night.

Trevis Wyche scored 12 for St. Peter's (15-17), which will play No. 2 seed Rider in the quarterfinals on Sunday.

Tyler Nelson made two free throws and a 3-pointer to give Fairfield a 5-0 lead with 15 minutes left in the first half, but the Peacocks scored 22 of the next 24 to take a 22-7 lead into the break. Nelson was the only player to score in the first half for the Stags (7-24), who made just 2 of 21 (9.5 percent) field goals, and 2 of 4 free throws, before halftime.

It was the lowest scoring half and game for Fairfield -- which had just 11 points with 11 minutes to play -- this season.
