MONTGOMERY, Alabama -- DeMarcus Robinson had 23 points, including 5-of-8 from behind the arc, to lead Alabama State to a 105-64 win over Auburn-Montgomery to open the season on Friday night.

Bobby Brown had 14 points and one rebound and Maurice Strong scored 12 points and grabbed six rebounds, shooting 6 for 8 from the field for Alabama State. Brandon Graham added 15 points and eight rebounds off the bench for the Hornets.

Jeremy Newton provided a team-high 22 points, 10 coming from the free throw line, and four steals off the bench for Auburn-Montgomery. Rodrick Robinson finished with 11 points, shooting 5 for 9 from the field for the Senators.

Alabama State began the game on a 26-5 run, highlighted by three 3-pointers from Robinson, who scored six more before the break to give the Hornets the 53-33 halftime lead. Robinson began the second half with eight of Alabama State's first 12 points.
