SAN ANTONIO -- Kyle Hittle made 4 of 6 3-pointers and totaled 19 points to lead Incarnate Word to an 89-49 season-opening victory over Texas-Tyler on Friday night.

Denzel Livingston scored 16 points, Traylin Farris and Jontrell Walker added 13 each and Shawn Johnson had 12. Farris pulled down 11 rebounds and Johnson had 10 rebounds.

Incarnate Word never trailed and held a commanding 43-21 lead at the half.

The Cardinals made 15 of 31 field goal attempts in the second half while limiting UT-Tyler to 19 of 63 field goals for the game. Incarnate Word scored 38 points in the paint while holding UT-Tyler to just 14.

Incarnate Word also dominated the boards, pulling down 51 rebounds compared to 39 for the Division-III Patriots.

Tyler Jacobs led UT-Tyler with 13 points and six rebounds.
