SEATTLE -- Colorado center Josh Scott took advantage of a short-handed Washington team to score 21 points and lead the Buffaloes to a 64-47 win Thursday.
That doesn't mean he enjoyed the Huskies' misfortune.
"I definitely feel for them," Scott said. "Been there in that situation, where we haven't had people healthy, so I hope their guys get healthy."
Washington (15-14, 4-13 Pac-12) had just seven healthy scholarship players for the game. Shawn Kemp, Jr., missed his third straight game due to a strained a calf suffered in practice this week after recovering from a concussion, and Donaven Dorsey was out with turf toe. Kemp's absence, especially, left UW vulnerable inside.
Scott and Colorado took advantage.
"We just ran out of bodies," UW coach Lorenzo Romar said.
Scott missed eight games this year with back injuries, giving him some perspective on Washington's troubles.
"For the guys that are sitting out, not able to be out there with your teammates that you battle with every day, it's not an easy task," he said. "I wouldn't wish that on anybody."
Xavier Johnson had 11 points and seven rebounds, and Xavier Talton added 10 points for Colorado (14-15, 7-10) which won on the road for just the second time this season. CU has won two in a row, the Buffaloes first winning streak since January.
Both teams struggled on offense early -- Colorado led 5-2 after the opening four minutes -- but the Buffaloes got going first, mostly thanks to Scott's presence inside.
"We couldn't make a shot, but we finally got it inside," Colorado coach Tad Boyle said. "We got some putbacks and got the ball into the high post and on the baseline where we want it, and our guys made plays."
Colorado opened up a 20-6 lead and Scott scored 14 of his points in the first half as CU took a 30-17 halftime lead.
Washington looked out of sorts for most of the first half, shooting 25.8 percent -- including 0 of 7 from 3-pointer range -- before halftime.
UW found its shooting touch after halftime. The Huskies made four field goals in the first two minutes of the second half -- as many as they made in the first 14 minutes of the first half. Andrew Andrews' third 3-pointer of the half cut the lead to 41-36 with 15 minutes to play, but Colorado again wore down Washington by going inside. Johnson and Jaron Hopkins each had a pair of dunks as Colorado went on a 15-6 run to take full control.
"We got a lot of stops, pushed the ball in transitions at some points," said Colorado guard Askia Booker, who had five points and seven rebounds. "We basically figured out their zone."
Andrews led the Huskies with 20 points and Mike Anderson added 11. Washington has now lost three in a row and 10 of the last 11.
"We just couldn't consistently put the ball in the basket, even when we made our runs," Romar said.

Colorado: The Buffaloes are now 2-7 against Washington in Seattle. Their only other win came on Dec. 21, 1956.
Washington: With the Huskies missing several regulars due to injury, center Gilles Dierickx made his first start for UW and had two points and six rebounds. Walk-on freshman guard Dan Kingma also played a career-high 16 minutes off the bench, scoring four points.
