PRINCETON, N.J. -- Spencer Weisz scored 18 points to lead Princeton to a 64-58 victory over Rider in the season opener for both teams on Friday night.

True freshman Amir Bell hit a 3-pointer, capping a 28-12 second half run to give Princeton a 58-51 lead with 2:23 remaining. Weisz scored eight points during the span. Bell finished with seven points, Hans Brase hit four 3-pointers for 12 points and grabbed eight rebounds for the Tigers.

Jimmie Taylor scored to give Rider its largest lead of the second half, 41-32 with 14:01 to play. Xavier Lundy hit a 3-pointer to pull the Broncs within 60-56 with 58 seconds left, but the Tigers shot 4 of 4 from the line to end it.

Teddy Okereafor led the Broncs with 16 points on 6-of-14 shooting with four assists.
