Knicks waive 5, trim roster to 15 players

NEW YORK -- The New York Knicks have waived five players, getting their roster down to 15.

Veteran big men Ike Diogu, Josh Powell and Jeremy Tyler were cut, as were forwards C.J. Leslie and Chris Douglas-Roberts.

Chris Smith -- whose brother J.R. Smith is on the team -- was kept, along with center Cole Aldrich and guard Toure' Murry. Though coach Mike Woodson couldn't guarantee there wouldn't be another move before Monday's deadline, Friday's moves got the Knicks down to the NBA's roster limit.
