Iman Shumpert starts in debut

LONDON -- New York Knicks guard Iman Shumpert played 15 minutes in his season debut Thursday against the
Detroit Pistons.

Starting alongside Jason Kidd in the backcourt, Shumpert made his first shot and scored eight points in the Knicks' 102-87 victory. He finished 3 of 7 from the floor and also grabbed two rebounds.

Coach Mike Woodson planned to manage the minutes of Shumpert, who is returning after being sidelined for seven months following an ACL injury.
