Free-agent point guard Brandon Jennings will work out for the Brooklyn Nets on Friday morning at UCLA, according to a league source.
Jennings, 26, averaged 6.9 points and 3.5 assists while playing for Detroit and Orlando last season.
The Magic acquired Jennings and forward Ersan Ilyasova in February through a trade in which they sent forward Tobias Harris to Detroit as part of a larger plan to make a major push for free agents this summer.
Magic general manager Rob Hennigan said in April that the team hoped to add veterans during the offseason, and Orlando could have generated up to $46 million in cap space for July by waiving Ilyasova and renouncing its cap hold on Jennings along with other free agents.
A six-year veteran, Jennings, 26, spent the first four seasons of his career with the Milwaukee Bucks, who made him the ninth overall pick in the 2009 draft.
Jennings flashed brilliance in Milwaukee before enduring injury-riddled stints with the Pistons and Magic. He suffered a torn left Achilles in January 2015 and spent the last half of the 2015-16 season with the Magic. Jennings scored 20 points or more on three occasions, as well as a pair of double-digit assist outings last season.
Before suffering the Achilles injury, Jennings played 41 games with the Pistons and averaged 15.4 points and 6.6 assists.
