OAKLAND, Calif. -- Stephen Curry isn't assuming victory in Game 7 just because the Golden State Warriors are back at Oracle Arena, where they are 47-3 this season.
A victory Monday night would complete the Warriors' comeback from a 3-1 series deficit against the Oklahoma City Thunder in the Western Conference finals.
"It doesn't matter what other people think. I'm sure they didn't think we'd get here," Curry said Monday morning at the team's practice facility.
The Warriors only lost twice at home during the regular season and once this postseason -- most recently in Game 1 of this series.
"Just because we're showing up at Oracle tonight doesn't mean we're guaranteed a win. We have to play with that same kind of force and allow the whole kind of atmosphere to take over," Curry said of the Warriors' home-court advantage.
Only nine teams in NBA history have successfully come back from a 3-1 deficit. The most recent team to do so was last year's Houston Rockets, who came back to best the Los Angeles Clippers.
After the Warriors came back from a seven-point deficit with 5:48 left in Game 6 to win 108-101 on Saturday, Golden State forward Draymond Green shouted, "Let's do what they said we can't do!"
"You can smile and enjoy what we accomplished, but we're not celebrating anything grand beyond that," Curry said of that season-extending road victory.
Curry is looking forward to the possibility of clinching an NBA Finals trip this way, even if things didn't exactly go as planned.
"It didn't pan out how we wanted it going into this series," he said. "We're taking a different journey, but at the end of the day we have 48 minutes to claw ourselves out of the grave and advance. What more could ask for? It's going to be a fun night."
