New Orleans Pelicans guard Tyreke Evans underwent successful surgery on his right knee and will miss the rest of the season, the team announced Friday.
Evans, a seven-year veteran, had the procedure to help alleviate pain from tendinitis. It was Evans' third surgery on his right knee since last May.
Evans is New Orleans' third-leading scorer, averaging 15.2 points to go with 6.6 assists and 5.2 rebounds per game. He was the 2009-10 rookie of the year after being picked No. 4 in the draft by the Sacramento Kings.
