SAN ANTONIO -- San Antonio Spurs power forward LaMarcus Aldridge shut down his Twitter and Instagram pages in the wake of the team's 120-90 loss to the Golden State Warriors on Monday, but he explained the defeat had nothing to do with his decision.
In a matchup that Spurs coach Gregg Popovich described as "like men and boys," Aldridge produced a season-low five points on 2-of-9 shooting.
"I just wanted to lock in," Aldridge said Wednesday after San Antonio beat the Houston Rockets 130-99. "It's not anything about the game. This is a new adventure for me. I've never been in this system or with this team. I've never been on a top-two team in the West. So I just wanted to lock in on my season right now. It had nothing to do with that game. That's the reason. I wanted to lock in."
Aldridge scored a game-high 25 points on 9-of-13 shooting Wednesday night to go with 10 rebounds and five assists. It marked Aldridge's third game this season with at least 25 points and 10 rebounds. He had 18 such games last season with the Portland Trail Blazers.
