Craig Sager has leukemia recurrence

Turner Sports reporter Craig Sager has had a recurrence of the leukemia he has battled for much of the past year.

Sager's son, Craig Sager Jr., said on Twitter his father learned the news last week and that Sager was also fighting a flu bug, which is "a main priority right now."

Sager, 63, had returned to his sideline reporting duties earlier this month for TNT, saying he was in full remission from the leukemia, before canceling a trip to Omaha, Nebraska, for the NCAA tournament.

According to previous reports, Sager's treatment included bone-marrow and stem-cell transplants from his son, Craig Sager Jr.

Sager, who has made a name for himself over the years because of his colorful interviews and even more colorful clothing, said upon his return that while the process of going back to work had been arduous, he has tried to stay positive since the leukemia diagnosis.
