Hornets, Clippers will play 2 preseason games in China

The NBA announced the Michael Jordan-owned Charlotte Hornets will play eight-time NBA All-Star Chris Paul and the Los Angeles Clippers in two preseason games in China in October.

It's the first time NBA games will be played in Shenzhen. Games are set for Oct. 11 at the Shenzhen Universiade Center and Oct. 14 at the Mercedes-Benz Arena as part of the NBA Global Games 2015.

NBA Commissioner Adam Silver says in a release the games "not only bring the excitement of NBA action directly to Chinese fans, but will also provide the league another opportunity to experience the rich history and culture of China."

Jordan says the games will help grow the NBA's brand internationally, "while showcasing the strength of our franchise and team to millions of Chinese basketball fans."
