Raptors rest All-Star Kyle Lowry

NEW YORK -- Toronto Raptors point guard Kyle Lowry sat out Saturday's 103-98 loss to the New York Knicks to rest. It was the first game Lowry had missed this season.

The 28-year-old All-Star has been plagued by fatigue and nagging injuries to his calf, hamstring and finger.

In his past five games, Lowry is shooting just 29.7 percent from the field and averaging 11.6 points.

Raptors coach Dwane Casey said the Raptors could look to give Lowry a few rest days down the stretch.

Lowry has logged 34.6 minutes per game over the first 58 games of the season.

The Raptors (37-22) have lost five straight games.
