Wizards' Humphries leaves against Magic with bruised back

NBA, Washington Wizards, Orlando Magic

WASHINGTON -- Forward Kris Humphries has left the Wizards' game against the Orlando Magic after the first quarter with a bruised lower back.

Humphries got hurt Monday night when he landed hard on the court after getting fouled while going after a rebound at the defensive end.

When the quarter ended, he headed to the locker room with a trainer. The Wizards said Humphries would not return.

He averages 8.2 points and ranks second on Washington with 6.9 rebounds per game.

The Wizards already were without starting guard Bradley Beal, who was inactive Monday, missing a second consecutive game with a sore right big toe.

Magic forward Tobias Harris also was inactive, out with a bruised right knee.

Garrett Temple took Beal's spot in the Wizards' starting lineup, while Aaron Gordon started in place of Harris, who got hurt in Orlando's 98-97 loss to Chicago on Sunday night.

Harris ranks second on the Magic at 17.4 points per game and 6.6 rebounds per game.

Beal injured his toe during Thursday's loss at Charlotte. His averages of 15 points and three assists are second in both categories to All-Star point guard John Wall on the Wizards.
