Dallas Mavericks point guard Rajon Rondo suffered a head injury in the first quarter of Saturday night's 108-93 win over the Orlando Magic and did not return.

Rondo was scheduled to be evaluated by Dallas' team doctors after the Mavs returned home following the game. The Mavericks had no other updates on his condition.

"It was a really bad collision," center Tyson Chandler said. "I don't know what the prognosis is but he is pretty beat up."

Rondo was injured just 98 seconds into the game. He tripped over the leg of Magic guard Elfrid Payton and then was accidentally kneed in the face by teammate Richard Jefferson, who did not see Rondo on the floor as he started to sprint down the court on a fast break.

With blood pouring out of his nose, Rondo stayed down on the court for about a minute before being escorted to the locker room by the Mavs' athletic training staff.

Without Rondo, the Mavs were missing two starters. Small forward Chandler Parsons missed his second consecutive game due to a stomach illness.
