CHICAGO -- Bulls guard Derrick Rose will miss Thursday night's game against the New York Knicks because of an illness. Rose had played in 11 consecutive games as he works his way back from a knee injury that cut short his 2013-14 season. He is averaging 16.8 points and 5.1 assists per game for Chicago. Forward Taj Gibson (right ankle) is also out, and center Joakim Noah is in the starting lineup after missing Chicago's last four games with a right ankle injury. Bulls coach Tom Thibodeau said Rose isn't at the United Center. Thibodeau is not sure if Rose will travel with the team for Friday's game at Memphis.
