Joe Johnson (flu) out vs. Cavaliers

NEW YORK -- Brooklyn Nets swingman Joe Johnson did not play in Monday night's 110-88 loss to the Cleveland Cavaliers because he is suffering from the flu.

Johnson said he was feeling under the weather prior to Friday night's loss to the Atlanta Hawks.

This was the first game he has missed this season. The 33-year-old veteran is averaging 15.7 points, 5.0 rebounds and 3.8 assists per game.

The Nets (8-10) were also without center Brook Lopez (lower back strain). Lopez will be re-evaluated in a week and miss at least the next four games.

Asked about Lopez's back, all Brooklyn coach Lionel Hollins could say is that it is not broken.

The Nets started Kevin Garnett, Mirza Teletovic, Alan Anderson, Bojan Bogdnaovic and Deron Williams against the Cavaliers, Hollins said.

Teletovic suffered a hip pointer and needed four stitches to repair a facial laceration in the third quarter. He did not return.
