AP Source: Davis to Lakers for 2 years, $2 million

NBA, Memphis Grizzlies, Los Angeles Lakers, Toronto Raptors, Sacramento Kings

LAS VEGAS -- A person with knowledge of the deal tells The Associated Press that Ed Davis has agreed to terms on a two-year, $2 million contract with the Los Angeles Lakers.

The Lakers and Davis reached agreement on Wednesday night. The second year of the deal is a player option. The person requested anonymity because an official announcement has not been made.

Davis has played for Toronto and Memphis in his four-year NBA career. He was the 13th overall pick in 2010 and showed flashes of real potential early on with the Raptors.

But after being traded to the Grizzlies as part of the deal that sent Rudy Gay to Toronto, Davis struggled to get consistent minutes on a team with a loaded frontcourt.

Yahoo! Sports first reported the agreement.
