Knicks sign two to 10-day contracts

The New York Knicks have signed free agent guard Shannon Brown and free agent forward Earl Clark to 10-day contracts, the team announced.

Both players are expected to be available for Thursday's game against the Miami Heat. Clark, a five-year veteran, averaged 5.2 points in 45 games with the Cleveland Cavaliers. The 6-foot-10 forward was sent to the Philadelphia 76ers in the Spencer Hawes trade and subsequently waived.

Brown, a seven-year veteran, played 10 games with the Spurs this season but was released after the second of two 10-day contracts. He averaged 2.3 points and 1.2 rebounds, shooting 28 percent from the field. Last season, Brown averaged 10.5 points and pulled down 2.5 rebounds in 59 games for the Phoenix Suns.

Phoenix traded Brown to Washington in a deal centered around Marcin Gortat during the preseason. The Wizards waived Brown shortly after the trade was completed.

The Knicks had two open roster spots to fill following the team's decision to waive veteran forward Metta World Peace and guard Beno Udrih.
