Amar'e Stoudemire has sore left knee

NBA, New York Knicks

New York Knicks forward Amar'e Stoudemire will sit out of Wednesday's game against the New Orleans Pelicans due to soreness in his left knee, the team announced.

Stoudemire has averaged 10.2 points and 4.5 rebounds per game in 19.7 minutes.

The Knicks had taken a cautious approach with Stoudemire's knees earlier in the season, with the team's medical staff putting the veteran big man on a minutes limit, however that only lasted the first two weeks of the season.

With the Knicks playing four games in five nights, it makes sense that Stoudemire would sit one of the four games.

With Stoudemire out, third-year pro Jeremy Tyler is expected to see an increase in minutes against New Orleans.
