Knicks' Iman Shumpert out again

NEW YORK -- Knicks guard Iman Shumpert will miss his second straight game due to a left shoulder sprain, but New York will get Kenyon Martin and Amar'e Stoudemire back from their respective ankle injuries for Saturday night's game against Miami.

J.R. Smith will start at shooting guard in place of Shumpert for the second straight game. Smith had 19 points in the Knicks' win against Cleveland on Thursday starting for Shumpert.

Shumpert originally hurt his shoulder on Tuesday against Boston in a collision with Kris Humphries.

"He's getting better, but he's not ready to go yet. Still day-to-day," coach Mike Woodson said.

Martin has missed six of the last seven games due to a left ankle injury. Stoudemire has missed the last seven with an ankle sprain.

Stoudemire had been playing well for the Knicks before his injury. The power forward averaged 13.2 points on 56 percent shooting in 23 minutes over his past 12 games.

Stoudemire said on Saturday that he's been bed-ridden for the past four days due to the flu. His ankle, though, is "100 percent. I feel strong, I feel good."

Martin has provided strong defense on the interior for New York (19-27), winner of four straight heading into Saturday night.

Martin and Stoudemire will come off the bench against Miami. The Knicks will start with a small lineup featuring Carmelo Anthony at power forward, J.R. Smith at small forward and Tyson Chandler at center.
