Even with the biggest piece of them all, Dwight Howard, staying put (for now), it's been one wild offseason in the NBA. From the deep-but-perhaps-star-challenged draft, to the stunning trade of Joe J... Read full story

Broussard said that Asik is no Scola and that good thing because the next time that Scola plays defense will be the first time. The Rockets needed some inside rim protection and Asik fits the bill. Now that Lin doesn't play for the Knicks, he is all of a sudden a backup. Dragic and Lowry came to the Rockets under the same circumstanes and performed well, and I'm sure Lin will do the same. 298 Days ago

Are you kidding, you mean to tell me that the Cletics weren't number 1 on this list, come on Chris what have you been smoking? 298 Days ago

The article was whether these teams would improve their win/loss record. Celtics might do that; Mavs won't. This wasn't about the "best offseason." 298 Days ago

In the narrow construct of wins and losses, this article is correct. Now I have to go find a blind squirrel to complete my Saturday. 298 Days ago

"the Nets would have been a veritable Dream Team, just like Miami. Except, I believe, the Nets' trio would have fit together better than the Heat's."
The Heat won the NBA Finals. I think they fit together just fine. Such a donkey. 298 Days ago

how are the Celtics not included as a rising team - just the fact that they are adding the services of two key players who were out last year due to heart surgeries will make them better.(only the Celtics would have bad luck like that - the Bias Curse is still hanging over the franchise) then, they add two athletic guards to replace an aging unathletic guard (though the greatest pure shooter in history) and supplement all this with talented young players.
how can they not be better - and they were the most difficult obstacle for the team that eventually won the title. 298 Days ago

Hey Brousard its easy to get on the band wagon! I'm with floyd69. They may not be glamorous but they made solid moves to improve what is always a very competative team in a small market.
Take the ability to spend money out of the business plan and you have an extremely well run franchise that will come to play hard every night.

Timberwolves subtract Randolph, Milicic, Wes Johnson, Martell Webster, Brad Miller, etc. and we add Roy, Budinger, Kirilenko, Shved, etc. How is that not top 5 most improved? 299 Days ago

Horrible article. Did you throw that together in 30 minutes? 299 Days ago

People always sleep on the Jazz. They didn't have a draft pick, but they added Mo Williams, Marvin Williams and Randy Foye. All of whom were improvements over what they had, and improve their big weakness which was 3 point shooting. They will make the playoffs again. 299 Days ago

I'm really sorry and don't mean to be mean, but good gosh, Chris Brousard, you are really, really bad at understanding basketball (not to mention writing clear sentences). You are obviously very well connected -- which must be why you have this job, because your assessment of basketball and your writing is really, really bad. Please, please, please consider: (1) not exclusively thinking simple thoughts -- e.g., "I've heard of Joe Johnson, so his addition must be important"; try, rather, to be more nuanced; you are completely allowed to have original thoughts; please don't exclusively jump on bandwagons; it seems incredibly simplistic; (2) re-reading what you write to assess its readability; modifiers modify things - they don't just hang there. You're acting really simple here - like a person from human resources or a Republican. It's really not necessary. Expand your mind. 300 Days ago
