While the focus as of Sunday will be on free-agent NBA players, the Oklahoma City Thunder are still hoping to keep their coach, Scott Brooks, from entering the same waters. As of Friday, the only cert... Read full story
For some reasons writers are making people believe that Brooks took a team that could barely win to the NBA finals playoffs without mentioning that the year they made their first playoff against the Lakers with 50 wins coincided with the addition of Harden and Ibaka and that the year they made the finals conference coincided with the addition of Perkins. They make it sound as if Brooks took a 10+ winning team all the way to the finals by his coaching skills 327 Days ago

No one here at OKC believed he was a good coach, we knew what he was and that was a good motivator. But there's no denying he out coached Pop, but I don't believe that one series should get him the deal he's about to get. 326 Days ago

Evryone watching the finals knew that there was no way OKC would lose even one game to Miami if it wasn't for Brooks choking. Everyone knew that the starting line up was just an additional puzzle that Brooks created for himself and that they will end up losing...well everyone except Brooks and Jeff Van Gundy 327 Days ago

Most of his best choaching decisions come from Mo Cheek anyway. He only preach during time out. 327 Days ago

Scott Brooks needs to accept what the Thunder give him before his coaching career goes down the drain. 327 Days ago

Looks like Lebron did Scotty Brooks in... 327 Days ago

The reason the Thunder lost the first two games to San Antonio and that they lost to Miami has more to do with Brooks than the talent or play of the OKC players. While Brooks does a good job getting along with his players, he seems to have a hard time initially understanding matchups and handing out proper minutes to the right guys. Moreover, he is not known as a strategic coach, so screwing up the minutes on a regular basis is an even bigger flaw. 327 Days ago

Scott Brooks is just lucky he has great young players on the entire roster. He sucks as a coach and he preaches crap during timeouts 327 Days ago

Brooks is a absolutely terrible coach. Me, and most other Thunder fans are really, really hoping he don't come back. He is grossly incompetent.
He totally sabotaged the team by playing Fisher a rediculous amount of minutes, and playing Ibaka, and Thabo way too few minutes. He loves extremely small lineups which kill us defensively, and on the boards. Playing Fisher at sg for tons of minutes is the height of stupidity.
As ma Thunder fan I would take almost any coach over him.
He also finds every reason he can to take Ibaka out, and limit his minutes despite Ibaka being the best rim protector in the NBA.

Yes indeed, you're right. He always tends to love Perkins even if he gets scored on over and over and talk about his toughness while there are no big man to defend on the court. He takes Ibaka out for any single mistake and it is true that he loves that useless extremely small line-up. He loves experience so much that when the experienced players are messing up big time, he gets stcuk like a mirror. 327 Days ago

Brooks has done a great job in OKC, but a lot of coaches would look great when you have KD, Westbrook and company. Shoot, Isiah Thomas would excell with that kind of talent. 327 Days ago

Anyway, I don't think Brooks will get what he wants nor will OKC, they will meet somewhere in the middle. 327 Days ago

It's not like Scott Brooks is a coaching guru like Pat Riley and Phil Jackson were. He's not worth as much as he thinks he is. 327 Days ago

Brian Shaw! or Phill Jackson. or anyone with some discipline. Brooks isnt even really the coach. He just has the title. Westbrook walks all over him. There offensive system is Durant or bust. No movement on that team. Without Durant they dont make playoffs. Brooks is replacable. Overated big time 327 Days ago

Again people focusing on Brooks perceived worth, instead of the practical issues like who can the Thunder get to replace him. 327 Days ago

Just about anybody would be better then Brooks. 327 Days ago

Or the two parties can come to an agreement.
I mean it's a negotiation people, obviously both parties are going to try to get the most out of it.
Brooks is not a bad coach and he gives them continuity. 327 Days ago

His salary is a practical issue, and what he's demanding wouldn't fit the team's plans. They'll find someone who they think is worth it. 327 Days ago
