If Rose can get back to near 100%, the bulls will be strong contenders in the East for years to come. No PG can match his athleticism or demeanor, it's a shame he went down with such an unfortunate injury, he was blossoming into the most exciting player to watch, and without a doubt the best PG in the NBA in years.

With Rose and Deng out until at least after the all-star break, I think we should just forget next season and tank for a pick. Come 2013-14, we'll see a healthy Rose, Deng, a lotto pick, and Mitoric. If that happens, nobody's beating that team.

That is IF this team tanks and IF next years draft is good! Coach T wouldn't allow this team to tank!

I have a serious question: Why would you all blow up the core? Lets say the Bulls trade Deng. Who would the Bulls be able to get in order to make the team BETTER? What if they take this huge risk and it doesn't work out? They can't trade good players and get nothing in return. I understand that this core group has been together two years without a chip but injuries happen. Rose will not return until the middle of next season. Let that sink in for a minute! While his teammates(the core) have the benefit of a FULL training camp and a FULL regular season, he is going to have another shorten season (that is if he doesn't sit out next season). Chemistry is important.. The Bulls can't amnesty Boozer this year and Noah and Asik are needed to protect the rim (not to mention, the fact that I've read several articles that the organization doesn't want to give them up because THAT is what makes the team a threat in the east). Deng has NOT made a decision on whether to have surgery on his wrist. They do not have the money to sign Allen or Nash. DH really wants to be a Net. Players in todays NBA want to go to teams were THEY want to become the center o attention or get more $

I wish Rose the best in recovery, but this Bulls team needs to make some drastic changes on this squad in order to be able to compete for a title. The Thunder and Heat showed why it's important to have multiple dynamic and athletic playmakers in your starting 5. The Bulls only had one in D. Rose, and now that he is going to be coming off a significant injury, one really can't assume to guarantee that he will be the same until he starts to play again. I'm not writing Rose off yet, especially since he has shown great will and determination, but he is an uncertainty right now. Gar and Paxson need to come up with a plan of either deciding to find players now to retool and help Rose when he comes back to compete for a championship, or start to sell off pieces of this team in order to rebuild through the draft. The current state of this Bulls team, even if Rose didn't get hurt, still would not have been able to beat either the Heat or Thunder in a 7 game series. I don't care how deep a bench the Bulls have, in the playoffs the best 5 of each team are usually in the game for most of the minutes.

Many may think hear the words ahead of schedule is a bad sign thinking that the Bulls might be rushing Rose to play. Just calm down I assure you that they will not rush him back. The Bulls will likely play competitive basketball but eventually tank this season. Which would hopefully yield a good draft pick to help build for the 2013-2014 season.

I am one of the few, but I want to blow this team up next year. Amnesty Boozer next year, let Korver, Brewer, Watson walk this year, then trade for a LEGIT 2nd option. If that trade needs to have Noah or Luol in it, then so be it. Derrick needs help. Not Rip. Not Luol. Not Noah. He needs a scorer

If Dr. Andrews is the top ACL doctor, why wouldn't the Bulls get him to do the surgery instead of Dr. Cole? I know Dr. Cole is the TEAM doctor, but is Andrews is the BETTER doctor it would've made more sense to go with him. I don't get it.

i agree but ACL is a pretty routine surgery, among top notch doctors it is hard to determine one is better than another...

I hope management watched these Finals. The team as currently constructed won't beat Miami or OKC. Rose needs help. Real help.

Your right the team is not a title contender right now. And for all u fans saying amnesty Boozer its not gonna happen this year, although next year is an option. The bulls are 2 key players away A true big man cause Sorry the bulls dont have a real go getter other than Taj, Noah is completely over rated and Asik is the same player as Noah. And a true No.2 option at SG Rip is not the answer he's old past his prime and couldnt stay healthy not the answer. And plz dont bore me with korver or brewer waste of money defense is great but u still need to score. Also Watson should be gone if he made the right decision we would have still been playing in the playoffs very low Basketball IQ

Not sure how I feel about that statement of Paxson as more fan then GM. He got rid of some popular players in Hinrich, Tyrus Thomas and Ben Gordon and all were good choices. He also took unpopular picks in the draft like Noah and Taj Gibson who both exceeded expectations.

It is a really good team, but he does need help... Unfortunately, this GM is known to fall head over heals in love with his players and over evaluates them as a fan might... Fans are supposed to luv all their guys, but a GM needs to be realistic in the evaluation process. Not sure that can happen with the Bulls

and yes we will have to make moves because of expiring contracts and such witth our three options: korver, brewer, and watson. with rose out we obviously take CJ. korver wants too much cash. As side from that, dont see any big moves being made. Need to lock up the big men (ASIK and TAJ) and find a scoring power forward and a scoring 2 gaurd. WE got all the defense we need. Doubt RIP will be of any worth once drose gets healthy

dont be dumb, just because he is "ahead of schedule" doesnt mean all you idiots are smarter than the med staff or know something they dont. He is ahead of schedule because hes derrick freaking rose and that just means he will have more time to get back to his old self before he gets back out on the floor (whenever that may be). no one is rushing this man, do you know how much they pay him? all yall need to shut it on that stuff. Then put him back on schedule. Now! I'd rather see him dominate for years to come than see him play in November

The Bulls should trade Rip Hamilton and the rights to Nikola Mirotic for Tyreke Enens and an early second round pick. Oh, and all of those people that think that Rose is going to be traded to another team, he's not. Just because he was injured. That doesn't mean that we are giving him away. He's not like LeChoke, where you leave your own hometown and buy championships. Hopefully, the Thunder come back and win the championship, but no team has come back from down 3-1 in the Finals. The Bulls will be back. All they need is a good point guard like Nash, Kidd, Andre Miller, or Kirk Hinrich to replace Rose while he's out and that would accept the backup roll when Rose comes back. And since Rose is ahead of his rehab schedual, that helps his recovery out. Bulls all the way.

Who is going to take Rips contract? Furthermore, I don't believe Mirotic is even staring at the moment, is he?

The doctors and physical therapists will tell him when he's ready. If he follows anyone else's advice, he would be foolish. Check out this 3D animation of an actual ACL repair. It shows the procedure DRose might have gone through: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xsq0sQp6DwU
