Florida's Beal fits Raptors or Wizards
David Thorpe
April 18, 2012

The Toronto Raptors, believe it or not, had about as perfect a season as they could have hoped for, outside of becoming a serious contender, that is.First and foremost, first-year coach Dwayne Casey ...

Davis isn't going to be anyone's savior. He's basically Kevin Durant without the handles and shot. Beal is nothing more than a mediocre two-guard. Barnes is going to be a beast. If only the Wizards had a brain...

Raptors should draft Jeremy Lamb

If the wizards are smart they draft Beal he's the only prospect other than Davis worth drafting that high if he's gone then trade down to the 5th pick draft drummond and stock up on a future 1st for next year its not like any of the top 5 will see a playoff game anytime soon so we have a chance at a really good pick next year in return

Robert Henson is Ed Davis 2.0. Just as soft, malnourished, and over-hyped.

I am a Wizards fan and I wouldn't be THAT happy drafting MKG... He is a typical "Wizards SF" meaning that he is athletic with no perimeter game. We have plenty of SF slashers who never make it out to anything. The Wizards need either Anthony Davis to help secure our front-court or a perimeter shooter like Bradley Beal or Harrison Barnes to open up the court for John Wall to drive and kick.

Barnes is the perfect fit for Toronto while Kids-Gilchrist is the perfect fit for Washington .

Unless we win lottery- nene and 1ST for bynum. Wall and blatche for Aldridge. Lewis for Joe Johnson and Teague. vesely and higher 2nd for Bostons 2 1sts. Draft doron and drayden. Hire Brian Shaw. Run triangle with bynum, Aldridge, Johnson, green and lamb. Any takers?

I know who would NOT be takers: Boston, Portland, Atlanta and Los Angeles. But other than that, BRILLIANT! Meanwhile, back here on Planet Earth....

I say that the wizards/raptors trade a player plus a future second round pick for a late first round pick to draft Doron Lamb/Darius Miller as eitherof them is a great shooter from outside the arc with range!

If either team moved down, then that means they'd be trading with a team that wanted to move up. So why would you give them a 2nd rounder if they are trying to move up. Your logic would make since if they were offering their late first round pick & a 2nd rounder to move up into the lottery while either the Wiz or Raps moved down

I'm going to LMAO, again, if teams pass on Drummond to take guys like Robinson, MKG and even Beal (who I like alot). This time even more than I did when teams passed on Cousins for Turner, Favors and Johnson. At least Cousins has personality disorders. Drummond is, overall, an equal talent to Cousins without them. He just made a bad college choice. UConn does not utilize their bigs in their offensive schemes. Drummond has (at least) equal upside to Anthony Davis. Just like Cousins did to J.Wall. The very top of the draft is not where a smart team focuses on addressing needs or obsesses over fit with existing players (i.e., the guys that played you into the top of the draft). It's the only place (other than signing max FAs, which is very hard and will get harder) where teams can find potential superstars; so, if you don't use it with that in mind, you're likely to never have one.

Drummond doesn't have nearly the offensive game that Cousins does.. Not even a close comparison. Drummond could possibly be a defensive asset to a team.. But his offensive game will take years to become solid. However, I do think he is a better fit for the Wiz to play behind Nene & learn especially with trading McGee who blocked any & everything. So I do like him better with the Wiz them MKG because he still doesn't really have an NBA position yet. He is a worker but in the pro's that only gets you but so far.

LMAO is right, Drummond is a top 5 talent, but he does not have close to the upside of Davis...Drummond could be a defensive juggernaut, alot like Davis, but his offensive game isn't anywhere close to Davis, and while I agree that Philly, Jersey, and the Wolves were crazy to pass on Cousins, drafting Beal or MKG ahead of Drummond will never be a bad move, because even if they don't reach there potential, they are going to be solid-starting G/F in this league for a long time, and Drummond could very likely be Kwame Brown all over again.

watching my wiz play everynight , we need leadership, a winning coach with a defensive mindset also a coach that lets the guys play..i say draft bradley beal!!! your talking about a flatout score/baller also the guy can pass and can take pressure off wall..!! john wall loves to drive and kick and beal will be the man for that! mkg is good also just not a good fit here in washington!! i just have this feeling beal will beast at the nba level, beal give them the option and pace the wiz wants to play a fast,up and down pace witch wall loves!! the backcourt will be as good as curry and ellis or rondo and allen

Beal is a great choice for Washington, the draft is about addressing needs, and Washington needs an athletic shooter and defender. The best money their GM and owner could spend would be on a quality disciplined coach that can manage their young talent and build for a bright future. Obviously, Davis would be the biggest splash, but if they don't land the #1 pick, Beal seems to be solid at 2-5. At 32 they could also draft Jenkins(VANDY) or Lamb(UK) if they desire more shooting.

I hope Raptors get Beal or Robinson! Or trade for a polished scorer/lockdown defender

The Wizards should draft MKG he would be an excellent addition. Another move they should make is sign Jeff Green. I say a 10 to 12 win improvement next year. Starting lineup Pg John Wall Sg MKG SF Jeff Green PF Seraphin C- Nene Key reserves- Crawford, Vesley, James Singleton

The Wiz play no D and you want to add another scorer. lol.. Nick Young proved he could get buckets & score but he played no D.. and you want to add a combo guard who is pretty much a clone of J. Crawford for??? You pray for the #1 pick to get Anthony Davis and if you dont suceed... You take Drummond and groom him behind Nene where you have a defensive minded hustling bigs in Vesly, Drummond & Seraphin.. Trade Blatche all potential no action self and get extra 2nd rounder or a Veteran 3 who can play both sides.. Offensive & D like Tyshawn and change the culture of your team by signing Brian Shaw to be your coach.. Then you have a recipe for your future

I'm extremely happy you are not the GM of the Wizards! MKG can play but his ceiling is limited. How many times have we seen a SG/SF who plays great defense and has a great work ethic? Those are a dime a dozen in the NBA. Beal is the better fit because he can SHOOT the ball. Guys like that are not a dime-a-dozen....
