Chicago law enforcement officials declared a bomb threat made at U.S. Cellular Field during Friday's Chicago White Sox-Los Angeles Angels game to be noncredible, according to a statement from the White Sox's media relations department.

The White Sox's statement added: "The safety of fans, players, staff and employees at U.S. Cellular Field was not at risk at any time."

An additional police presence was not noticeable at the ballpark nor did it seem as though the crowd of 32,060 was aware of the situation.

"I was unaware of any threat until you just told me about it," said White Sox outfielder Alex Rios when asked about the situation after Friday's game.

The White Sox won Friday's contest on a 10th-inning home run by Rios. They will continue their series with the Angels on Saturday.
