Teixeira out of lineup for 3rd straight game because of foot

NEW YORK -- Yankees first baseman Mark Teixeira was out of the starting lineup for the third straight game because of a sore left foot.

Teixeira fouled a ball off his foot in the fourth inning of Saturday's loss to Boston, and X-rays and a CT scan were negative.

"I'm not sure about tomorrow," Yankees manager Joe Girardi said before Tuesday night's game against Baltimore.

The 36-year-old Teixeira is batting .186 with seven home runs and 20 RBI in 63 games during the final season of a $180 million, eight-year contract. He was on the disabled list from June 4-25 because of torn cartilage in his right knee.

Rob Refsnyder made his third straight start at first.
