Toronto Blue Jays top prospect Anthony Alford has left the hospital after being diagnosed with a concussion Saturday following an outfield collision during a game Friday.

Alford, an outfielder for the Class A Dunedin Blue Jays, appeared to injure his neck with he collided with shortstop Richard Urena. A CT scan at Mease Dunedin Hospital showed no fractures, the Blue Jays announced Saturday.

Alford was injured racing in to catch a fly ball in shallow center field that had been ruled an infield fly. After lying on the ground for about 15 minutes, he was removed from the field on a stretcher and taken to the hospital.

The Blue Jays drafted Alford in the third round in 2012, but he played college football at Ole Miss and Southern Miss before pivoting to pursue a professional baseball career.

ESPN's Keith Law listed Alford, 21, as the No. 52 prospect in the minors before the season.
