BARRY'S BACK
Home run king Barry Bonds returns to AT&T Park in a different uniform for the first time since playing his last season for San Francisco in 2007. He visits the Bay Area as the Miami Marlins' hitting coach for a weekend series vs. the Giants.
"It's not going to feel strange," he said. "That's my home. That will always be my home. I don't feel strange at home."
K MARK
Felix Hernandez is tied with Randy Johnson for the most strikeouts in Seattle history at 2,162. King Felix aims to break the record when the Mariners visit the Los Angeles Angels.
Hernandez has a 1.00 ERA in three starts despite walking 20 in 18 innings. Manager Scott Servais admits the control issues are worrisome. "It's hard to survive in this league when you're walking that many people. He knows it. I'm sure we'll get a good outing," he said.
REVERSAL OF FORTUNE?
Mets ace Matt Harvey tries again for his first win of the season when he pitches at Atlanta. He's 0-3 with a 5.71 ERA and has lost all his starts. In 17 1/3 innings, he's walked seven and struck out nine. The Mets hope an adjustment to Harvey's mechanics will help get him back to form.
WAINWRIGHT'S WOES
Cardinals star Adam Wainwright is 0-2 with an 8.27 ERA through three starts, and has walked more batters than he's struck out. He missed most of last season after tearing his Achilles and is still trying to find his rhythm.
KEEPING COUNT
Nationals slugger Bryce Harper goes into a weekend series at home against Minnesota with more home runs (8) than strikeouts (7) this season. He's also drawn nine walks and leads the majors with 22 RBI.
