White Sox decline to tender contracts to Flowers, Turner

MLB, Chicago White Sox, Chicago Cubs

CHICAGO -- The White Sox have declined to tender contracts for next season to catcher Tyler Flowers and right-handed pitcher Jacob Turner, making the pair free agents.

Flowers spent seven seasons with Chicago. He hit .239 with nine homers and 39 RBI in 112 games in 2015.

Turner was acquired off waivers from the Chicago Cubs on Oct. 29 after spending most of last season on the disabled list because of a strained flexor tendon in his right elbow. He made two injury rehabilitation starts with Double-A Tennessee in June.
