Reds owner Bob Castellini says Bryan Price's job is safe for now

As the season continues to slip away for the Cincinnati Reds, owner Bob Castellini isn't about to pull the plug on manager Bryan Price, but he isn't happy with the team's performance, either.

"Bryan is our manager," Castellini told the Cincinnati Enquirer on Thursday. "We're not making a change this year."

Price, who has another year left on his contract, has had to go with an all-rookie starting rotation after the team traded away Johnny Cueto and Mike Leake at the deadline.

"You look at everything after the season," Castellini told the Enquirer. "But that's not something we're going to get into now. Bryan's our manager."

The Reds have lost 12 of their past 13 games and are in last place in the NL Central with a 52-74 record.

"We're down but not out," Castellini told the Enquirer of the rebuilding project that lies ahead for the 2016 season. "I don't think next year will be a waste. We don't have the mindset that we're not going to contend. We're not giving up on the year.

"When you go through this, everyone thinks there's no light at the end of the tunnel. There is. We'll be fine."
