Orioles CF Adam Jones exits vs KC after running into wall

MLB, Baltimore Orioles, Kansas City Royals

KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Baltimore Orioles center fielder Adam Jones left the game against the Royals after running into the wall while tracking down a fly ball in the first inning Thursday.

The All-Star had a bead on the fly by Ben Zobrist, but it fell just out of Jones's reach and he ran hard into the wall. Jones was knocked off his feet and remained down as Zobrist headed to second base, and left fielder Steve Pearce motioned for trainers.

After a few moments, Jones stood up and remained in the game. He was replaced by Paul Janish in the third when his place in the batting order came up.

There was no immediate word on the nature or severity of his injury.
