Hunter Pence rejoins Giants lineup after DL stay for wrist tendinitis

MLB, San Francisco Giants

SAN FRANCISCO -- The San Francisco Giants activated outfielder Hunter Pence from the disabled list Tuesday and immediately inserted him into the starting lineup for theirĀ 3-0 win over the New York Mets.

Pence finished with two RBIs in a 1-for-4 performance.

Pence had been sidelined more than a month with tendinitis in his left wrist. Pence also missed the first 36 games of the season after getting hit by a pitch that fractured his left forearm in spring training.

Giants manager Bruce Bochy penciled Pence in to bat fourth in the lineup nearly four hours before the first pitch against the Mets, but the team waited until after Pence took batting practice to make the move official.

To make room on the roster, San Francisco optioned OF Ryan Lollis to Triple-A Sacramento.
