Dozier and Parra both lead off the game with home run

MILWAUKEE -- Brian Dozier led off the game for the Minnesota Twins on Friday night with a home run. Gerardo Parra of the Milwaukee Brewers matched that feat when he led off the bottom of the first inning.

Dozier lined a 2-1 pitch from Kyle Lohse into the seats in left. Then, in the bottom half of the first, Parra hit an 0-1 offering from Trevor May just over the wall in left-center field. Center fielder Shane Robinson made a leaping attempt at the wall, but the ball cleared his glove with room to spare.

It was Dozier's fourth leadoff homer this season and 11th of his career. Parra connected for his first leadoff home run of the season and sixth of his career.

This was the second time this season both teams lead off the first inning with a home run. Josh Donaldson of the Toronto Blue Jays and Jason Kipnis of the Cleveland Indians did it on May 1. It was the sixth time it happened in the last five seasons, according to STATS.
