NOT SO ONE-SIDED
The most lopsided matchup in baseball history is getting a little more even. Despite losing the first two games of a three-game series, the A's are still 33-16 all-time vs. the Astros. The .673 winning percentage is tops for teams that have played each other at least 30 times. Boston's 20-10 record (.667) vs. the Marlins is second best. Houston will go for its first sweep ever against Oakland on Sunday when Asher Wojciechowski (0-1) takes on Drew Pomeranz (1-2).
JUST IN TIME
Edinson Volquez is set to start for the visiting Royals against the White Sox. He can play while appealing a five-game suspension for his part in the recent Kansas City-Chicago brawl. Before Volquez pitches, the teams need to finish Friday night's game that was 2-all going into the ninth inning when it was suspended because of rain.
AILING
Toronto will see whether slugging outfielder Jose Bautista is able to play at Tampa Bay. He's missed four straight games because of a sore shoulder.
WHAT TO DO?
The Indians will try again how to stop Miguel Cabrera from hurting them. Cabrera drew a career-high four walks, including three intentional passes, in Saturday's win at Detroit. Earlier this month, the two-time AL MVP went 11 for 14 against Cleveland in a three-game series.
HOME AGAIN
Washington lefty Gio Gonzalez, a South Florida native, has won five consecutive starts against the Marlins. The Nationals have lost four in a row overall, Miami has won four straight.
