Nats line up Strasburg to face Harvey

MLB, Washington Nationals, New York Mets

PORT ST. LUCIE, Fla. -- Stephen Strasburg will start for the Washington Nationals in the third game of the season on April 9 in a likely showdown with New York Mets ace Matt Harvey.

Nationals manager Matt Williams made the announcement Saturday. Barring any setbacks from a twisted ankle, Strasburg will face Harvey, who was bypassed as his team's opening day starter in favor of Bartolo Colon.

Max Scherzer, the 2013 AL Cy Young Award winner, will start on opening day for the Nationals.

He'll be followed in the rotation by Jordan Zimmermann, Strasburg, Gio Gonzalez and Doug Fister.
