Capuano leaves with strained right quadriceps

TAMPA, Fla. -- Chris Capuano, the top candidate to be the New York Yankees' fifth starter, left his outing against Boston due to a strained right quadriceps.

Capuano was hurt in the first inning Wednesday while covering first base on Brock Holt's one-out grounder to first baseman Garrett Jones. The left-hander was scheduled for an MRI.

Adam Warren is among the pitchers who could replace Capuano if he's not ready for the April 6 opener against Toronto.
