SAN FRANCISCO -- The Arizona Diamondbacks activated outfielder Mark Trumbo from the disabled list and put the slugger into their lineup Friday night against the San Francisco Giants.
Sidelined with a stress fracture in his left foot since April 21, Trumbo batted fifth and played left field. He went 1-for-4 with a single and a strikeout in a 5-0 Diamondbacks loss.
Trumbo batted .458 with five home runs and 12 RBIs in seven rehab games.
To make room, the Diamondbacks optioned outfielder Roger Kieschnick to Triple-A Reno.
