May 13: Blanton gave up seven runs over 4.2 innings and dropped to 0-7 on the season in Monday's 11-4 loss to the Royals
Well, on the bright side, Blanton struck out seven batters and didn't surrender a home run or walk. He's an immensely hittable pitcher, as always, and has a 6.46 ERA that speaks to that fact, but at least the peripheral numbers point to some improvement since a hideous start to the season. Blanton, who has a 13:0 K/BB ration in his last two starts, will try to get back on track Saturday against the White Sox. If he picks up another loss, talk of a 20-loss season (or benching) could begin.
