The Yankees have Francisco Cervelli waiting in the wings to become the eventual No. 2 catcher, which could happen as early as 2010 if Molina does not re-sign. Perhaps the biggest reason for bringing Molina back would be his chemistry with A.J. Burnett; he caught most of Burnett's starts down the stretch and started every game that Burnett pitched in the postseason.
