STLSt. Louis Cardinals
2016 Record: 25-24
#8 Mike Leake
May 22: Leake (3-3) shut out the Diamondbacks over seven innings Saturday, allowing only four hits. He struck out three. The veteran righty was masterful, throwing 64 of 91 pitches for strikes in a highly efficient performance. After a very shaky start to his Cardinals tenure, Leake has settled in nicely during May. He's lowered his ERA almost two full runs to 4.07, and has now rattled off three straight victories. The 28-year-old has notably surrendered only two earned runs in the 21 innings encompassing that trio of wins, and he's given up only a pair of homers over 26 innings during the current month as well. He'll look to stay hot against Joe Ross and the Nationals in Washington next Thursday.
