BOSTON -- Boston Red Sox outfielder Carl Crawford will undergo season-ending Tommy John surgery on Thursday, the team announced Monday evening.Crawford has what the team termed a "chronic" ulnar coll... Read full story
It is time for the Sox to completely over haul the entire pitching staff and some other players who are under-performing with big bloated contracts ie(Beckett, Crawford, Dice-K, Lackey and more). Should have traded Ellsbury at the deadline. No way he comes back to Boston with everything thats going on and is a free agent after this season. Scott Boras will get him a big contract somewhere. Wish him the best, I really like Ells. 274 Days ago

Crawford has more athletic ability in one leg than all you do u che ba g couch-potato whiners have combined. As a former left-fielder, I can thoroughly appreciate what he brings to the table (though I agree he's over-paid) and the fact that he came back and gave it a shot -- rather than sitting on the DL forever -- shows me that he's a baller who wants to make a difference. If Boston can put together a half-way decent pitching staff they'll be fine for next season. All you naysayers can eat sh i t. 274 Days ago

Carl Crawford is a bargain compared to A-Rod, at least. 275 Days ago

The idiots who are still referring to the chicken and beer drama from last year are more boring than watching water boil, get a life. 275 Days ago

you're right, there's plenty of drama to make fun of from this year. 275 Days ago

Cubs fans, take a look. This is just one in a long line of bad moves made by Boy Blunder. It won't be long until you see a string of bad FA signings and trades. Unfortunately for you, despite the fact that Theo will be calling all the shots, he'll fire his puppet GM long before anyone can blame him for the bad moves. 275 Days ago

It can be hard to watch a sports franchise and its fan base languish in misery. Unless of course it is a team from Boston. BWAAA HAAA HAAA HAA!!!! 275 Days ago

I keep hearing from Sox fans, trade the bust players, fire the coaches or gm.
How is that the Sox medical staff is flying under the radar? They are worse than weatherman with their predictions 275 Days ago

They replaced them after last year's disasters. 275 Days ago

No we don't, I hate him. I booed his $@% in his first game back to Tampa. I hope he not only rots but brings Boston down with that huge overpaid contract for many years to come. 275 Days ago

But would you take him back? 275 Days ago

Good move on Crawford to get this over with and when he returns he will have an outstanding year. He did pretty well in the 31 games this year. Can't blame him for signing that big contract and any production from him is better than none. Just keep the Red Sox doctors out of any of the rehabilitation processes. 275 Days ago

I bet you every team in MLB has taken notice of this contract and will now look at free agents differently they will now more than likely look at them like this
A. Never pay for speed
B. have INJURY clauses in all contracts
At least those make the most since to put into the new contracts Injuries happen I get that I've played baseball and football in high school and was injured a lot during my "career" and I got cut from my baseball team due to injury the same should happen to the Majors in fact thats why Boston didn't want to resign Bay they thought he was injury prone 275 Days ago
Fire Joe Girardi
I'm sure every owner in the game would to see the injury clause, it's getting the union to allow it in the CBA that's the problem 275 Days ago
2004Soxfan2007
True the CBA would probably never allow it but it should be allowed 275 Days ago

Lackey and Dice K should also give back the money!!! 275 Days ago

It was owner of the Red Sox who gave away that money. Why ask for it back? It is consequence for signing a stupid contract, so deal with it. 275 Days ago
