so far Crawford has been a bust. But i'll say this about him, the dude wants to succeed and prove to us that he was worth the investment. He's not J.D. Drew. If he's saying that he thinks he needs surgery than i believe him. I don't have any sources to support what i say. It's just me trying to fit the puzzle pieces together from the various people that have wrote about his character. Look to the future and just get the surgery now!

Get the surgery. Come back next year. Crawford can be a great player...He needs that surgery so he won't do further damage to his elbow.

He can get the surgery but coming back next year probably won't happen or it will be late in the season. I wish we had done this earlier though. I mean we are seeing now that he can produce and thats great but his bad elbow you would assume would have to get worse, just get him under the knife and hope for the best

The Red Sox should encourage Crawford to have the surgery ASAP. Fans will forgive him and the team if they're good next season -- they'll be a lot less forgiving if the team stinks again.

Shut him down. Redsox are not making the playoffs anyway. That's what they get for firing a great manager and replacing him with a TV personality. And now we know it wasn't Terry's fault but the fault of the spoiled players like Josh that took everything for granted. Crawford has come back and played exceptionally well. If his health is at risk then just let him get cleaned up. Then Boston needs to fire the TV personality. Hiring him was almost as bad as when we elected the actor as president.
