When an organization loses its integrity, it has nothing. The owners leaked Francona stuff. The players quit in September. Valentine talks to the press about his players before he talks directly to them. Beckett. Faith Day at Fenway for white Christians only. 25 Pedroia's would have won the division last year.

if ortiz says that everything is ok , thats good for me . if olneys comments are unjustifiable , he should lay off the team . olney and valentine were on the same team in espn , olney is a trouble maker

Seriously, I think the whole toxicity he is thinking of comes from the fact they are losing.

the only toxic in boston is the media lol....everyone need's to sell there story and sell new's reports. hey ortiz is telling it the way it is, and i know there is no toxic in the dressing room. since when does media have a degreee in facial expression's lmao. take yuk for example maybe he is hurting and the average dum $@% thinks he's complaining. the only player that made a sign he wanted out was manny and he's gone.......last year is just that over and done. get over it and move on because the players have

Olney is a hack. ESPN wants him to produce this contrived nonsense to drive eyeballs to the site. It's the same reason they always troll for anything that's racist.

Best ever Bobby Valentine Quote: "I don't know how to define 'toxic' because it's too big a word for me," Valentine said. This comes directly from the former Public Safety Director of Stamford, CT

If there are problem players in the clubhouse, it is likely Ortiz is one of them. Who else is there left from last year? Pedroia? Gonzo? If not either of them, then who? The pitching staff? Beckett, Buchholz, and Lester? Unless you are telling me the problem is Salty, Daniel Nava, Cody Ross, Mike Aviles, Ryan Sweeney, or hmm maybe Scott Podsednik?

Olney is a professional journalist, not some ex-jock with opinions. His report on the atmosphere in the Red Sox clubhouse is not based on his opinion, it's based on what he has heard from those in the know. Unfortunately, he hasn't specified the sources. But he likely wouldn't have been told anything if his sources knew that their names would be used. Not really on the subject, but can anyone name any team that had such a monumental late collapse coming back the next year and doing well? I can't.

What Olney said: "The Red Sox have a toxic atmosphere." What Olney thought: "Gee, I'm coming up against a deadline and have to write something. But what should i write? Hmmm ..."

Did anybody really expect Ortiz to admit that a problem in the clubhouse exists? He was one of the players in September telling everybody until the last out that all was well with The Best Team Ever. Once the season is over the Team Snitch will spill the beans and reveal this year's chicken and beer clubhouse shenanigans. Until then, 'getcha popcorn ready' and enjoy this season's swoon... Your team hasn't won a single playoff game since 2008, owns the greatest September collapse in baseball history, and currently resides in the basement 7 games behind the team you're criticizing. Do you really want to be talking smack?

this is ridiculous. Want to know what's "wrong" with the Red Sox? Crawford, Ellsbury, Pedroia, Youkilis, Beckett, Lackey and, whether he admits it or not, AGon. All of them are either injured, knicked, rehabbing, or busted. You try missing 6 former all-stars or all-star caliber players and see how it goes. Is the media that dense?

All Boston-area writers have been saying the Sox clubhouse is fine, virtually the opposite of what Buster wrote, Buster as a national columnist was clearly reaching on this one....

Media is at it again- trying to rip apart another team, if the media has their way we're going to be back to the sox of the 70's and 80's- and nobody is going to want to play here. Personally, im a die hard sox fan- and I honestly would honestly think twice before playing here.

So since all the players are there by 2:30, is that when the chicken and beer arrives?
