Ryan Braun has 145M left on his contract, and 15 teams would snatch him up in a second. He's that good.

Right now in baseball there is only one team, organization that has some freaking BRAINS when it some to this. Now the Dodgers haven't always been a smart organization but I will say they were smart in getting Kemp locked down for a longer period of time. This is what organizations are SUPPOSE to do.......try and keep your BEST players and you do that by paying them what they are worth while they are still worth it. Teams use up young talent for cheap and then when they are a little older and hit the market the rest of the MLB has to pay for past performance. TEAMS WAKE THE HELL UP AND PAY YOUR YOUNG STUDS TO STAY WITH YOUR ORGANIZATION..........it will make the game better in the long run if more teams did what the Dodgers did with Kemp.

Good read and yes this is the issue that can really kill the sport. Me personally it makes more sense in giving a young thriving stud the long extention or contract while they are on the up and still with your club.......instead of letting them hit the market and rape the rest of MLB for their services. All of the players in this article may have earned the right to have those contracts.......the issue is that the team didn't give them the money when they were earning it. They all try and get the young guys at a steal and then let them hit the market once they are already on the "skid" sort of speak. You fix the issue like the Dodgers have with Kemp.........he's not leaving anytime soon and he's also not out there trying to hold the MLB randsom either.

Yea, good old Theo Epstein is a real genius! It will take years for the Sox to both undo the damage and get out from under the contractual nightmares that this walking $@%! engineered for them. Good riddance!

Jason~ Is there some type of intangible associated with "unmovable contracts", such as Insurance? If a player can't play, do to an injury, is there a condition in the contract to move them?
