Probably not a good idea in the long run. Who knows what will happen to LaRoche's production once Michael Morse is back. Simply dropping Shoo for him would not be worth it, especially since you know someone is eventually going to pick Shoo up. However, Shoo is not that good in my eyes...I'd pick up Baltimore's Chirs Davis and let his hot streak ride out before LaRoche, imo. 20 Days ago

when are people going to wake up and realize michael young is one of the best hitters of this generation??? Drives me nuts!!!! 22 Days ago

What does this guy have to do to prove he can still play at a high level??? Perhaps he was VERY smart last year and realized that being a Yankee matters the most in the PLAYOFFS (regular season stats don't mean much to him). Perhaps he "eased" into spring training and early in the season (and the pressure of 3000) so that his body would peak during the 2nd half of the season and during playoffs... Remember, this guy has played 152 playoff games in his career - in 18 years he has played 19 seasons... He CAN/IS still the BEST SS in the game! 24 Days ago

There's an old quote by Grandland Rice and hes talking about class. And he says class is a very hard thing to define. See it could be a swing of a sluggers bat, could be a lift of thoroughbreds hoof, could be a flick of a quarterback's arm. But he said once you see it you never forget it. Derek Jeter has class. 24 Days ago

For starters..... He got a ridiculous contract!! Can you say Joe Mauer.... it could be the pressure or the comfort of knowing he got his.

I think these guys are really jacked up to produce before free agency and then as soon as they get a contract they typically fall off a little... human condition translates to occupation, and of which we all may draw experience. Ofcourse its not equalled across the board among any given production team but certainly, motivation is a sneaky thing that can take a day off sometimes, even among the elite. I dont own him but I think Votto is fine, its a long season. 24 Days ago

Its the same thing year after year, some guys figure out a way to trick father time. Jeter is 1st ballot HOF, not many guys are. Will he miss a few games, yup. Will he come back down to earth, maybe slightly. Will he become Andrus, JJ Hardy, Aybar, Rollins, Alex Gonzalez, or, GULP.. Scutaro?? Heck NO, He's Derek-dive-in-the-stands-Jeter and he's going down as one among the top of Baseball's mount rushmore... Ty Cobb, Babe Ruth, Ted Williams, Hank Aaron.. Willie Mays.. uhh screw it, he belongs and thats it. It looks like we're gonna need to carve up some more mountains but still, he's a living legend and I'm glad I got him. I'll send you an invite to my Championship ceremony, but not for the after party.. unless your name rhymes with 'Tephania Brelle.' You're always invited Tephania ;) 24 Days ago

I have encarnacion and youkilis on my team, and I would give up Youk before giving up Encarnacion in a heartbeat. And Prado so far above Encarnacion?
I think you are a bit too slow to adjust your rankings on what is actually happening as opposed to what you thought would happen before the season started. 24 Days ago

Where is Aviles on that list? 25 Days ago
Springs706
I was asking the same question. Usuaully Yankee & RodSox are over-ranked, but not here. He's a hitter and always has been and now he's getting a full time gig at SS. Even when Ellsbury comes back they could move Aviles to the 2 spot and drop everyone down 1 behind him. He could go 20-15 with 80+ runs & RBI. 24 Days ago

STOP DIS-RESPECTING MICHAEL YOUNG!!! HE IS A STUD!
Ranking him in the 60s is a joke... last year he hit .340 with 106 rbi, 90 runs, 215 hits, .380 OBP...and yeah only 9 hr last year but usually hits 20+ hr.... Add it together and He is a closer to being a top 10 hitter than the 60th ranked hitter
25 Days ago
The Rookie2009
And this year once again he is hitting .362 with a .389 OBP, and on pace for over 200 hits, 100+ rbi, 15-20 hr, 90 runs, and a 6-10 steals... Seriously STOP DIS-RECPECTING MICHAEL YOUNG 25 Days ago
