I like wilson, just not the character he turned himself into. Sorry to see this, but at the same time...I'll take it.

I couldn't care less about how a guy chooses to play up his public image. When he was on his game and healthy, there isn't a fan out there who wouldn't want Wilson coming in for their team to shut things down. That said, anybody who thinks a second Tommy John surgery for a closer who is dependent upon his power pitch isn't career-threatening is delusional. The guy is tough, but if he comes back from this it will be impressive.

My only concern is that this will be his second Tommy John surgery (one in college) and at least at face value that seems dire.

I hope you're right, and I know that Tommy John is considered one of the 'most successful' surgeries going right now, and they even use it on high school pitchers. Just seems like closer is a short-lived position these days. Maybe he'll be back in middle relief.

A lot of bitter people... Just a guy playing a game he loves and not taking himself too seriously. A nice guy the few times I have encountered him around town, too. I dont get all the anger.

We'll see how the Dodgers staying power is over a 162 game schedule. They have proven nothing yet.

you guys have definitely started off hot. Some great pitching in our division suddenly. Makes for some exciting rivalries (with the other NL West teams - we have ALWAYS hated each other...)

Hate to see the season start out this way. Thank God we have a deep pitching staff. Do what you need to do Wilson and get back here.

Brian Wilson is a good head who does a lot of charity work and made the single largest donation to the U.S. Air Force Scholarship Fund in its history last year. He's a free spirit who has fun with what he's doing and also takes his craft and responsibilities to his teammates seriously. Baseball needs more like him and I hope he makes a full and speedy recovery.
